Compare two date ranges
Comparison mode shows the change on every metric across your dashboard, so you can see whether this week is up or down against last week (or any other period).
Turn on a comparison
- On your dashboard, click
+ Add Comparisonnext to the date picker. - Choose
Previous period,Previous month,Previous quarter,Previous year, or a custom date range.
Once a comparison is selected, every metric shows the change. In the totals box, the change sits on a line below each number (for example, +12% vs previous).
Read the chart
Click any metric in the totals box to show or hide it on the chart. With a comparison active, the chart plots the current period and the comparison period together.
You can still change the chart type (area or bar) and the date grouping (hourly, daily, weekly, and so on) from the dropdowns on the chart. The grouping options depend on how long a range you have selected. See using the dashboard for those details.
Compare Search Console data
If you have connected Google Search Console, comparison mode works there too. You will see the change in clicks, impressions, CTR, and position for each search term, country, device type, and page.
