Uptime monitoring
To receive an alert when your website is offline or your SSL certificate isn’t functioning, you can set up simple uptime monitoring in your Fathom account.
You can add up to 50 domains and unlimited notifications, on any Fathom pricing plan. All monitoring is located in Settings
, and then Sites
. You can enable one type of monitoring per site or all four per site (totally up to you).
Note: if you monitor a lot of websites, and something catastrophic happens on the internet (i.e. Cloudflare goes down again), you will receive a lot of notifications all at once.
We send out a maximum of 4 notices per 30 minutes, per site to avoid an overwhelming number of notifications if a website is having intermittent issues.
How often should we check your website?
If you want to reduce the amount of uptime checks we send to your server, you can set the "How often should we check your website?" to a higher number (from every 30 seconds to once per day) in the monitoring modal for your site notifications. This will check your site at the interval you select. How long should your site be offline before we notify you?
If you don't want to be notified every time your site goes offline for 20 seconds, you can add a delay to the notifications. So if you had this setting set to "1 minute", and your site went offline for 20 seconds, you wouldn't receive a notification. But if it was offline for 2 minutes, you'd hear about it.
