Uptime monitoring
We’ve removing uptime monitoring for all customers as of November 10, 2023.
As of November 10, you’ll no longer receive notice from us if your site is offline. And as of now you won’t be able to create new uptime monitors in our software.
Why are we doing this?
Uptime monitoring is a lot of work and financial investment to do well - that’s why there are whole companies (big and small) that do this as their sole focus. Fathom is an analytics company, and monitoring is quite involved, from functionality through to support. With only a small percentage of our customers using monitoring, the work and economics just aren’t making sense for us to continue with this feature.
We’ve realized that we function best when focusing on our core product and service: privacy-focused web analytics. It’s what we do best. As a tiny team, we’ve got to retain that focus so we can continue adding new features to our core product (like the awesome event property system we're working on right now).
There are other options to continue to monitor your site’s uptime, like Uptime Robot, which is free for the base plan or PingPing (starting at 6€/mo).
If you still have questions or require help with anything, please reach out to us and we'll happily get things sorted out for you.
